Strawberry Recreation District creates and maintains activities, facilities and parks that enhance the quality of life in the Strawberry community . SRD is an independent District of Marin providing services and leadership through a publicly elected Board of Directors.
Strawberry is an unincorporated waterfront community in Marin County, California located 10 miles north of San Francisco. Approximately 5000 people live in Strawberry on the San Francisco Bay between the towns of Tiburon and Mill Valley. Residents are a mix of professionals and artists, young families and retirees. All enjoy the waterfront views, marine wildlife, natural trails and parks. Established in 1949, Strawberry Recreation District celebrates its anniversary in the spring with the SRD Strawberry Festival. Strawberry is not just a physical location: it is a true community.

The Recreation District is managed by a District Manager who reports to an elected 5-member Board of Directors. Its operating budget is $1.2 million. The District is primarily self-funded. Board meetings are held at least once a month.
