This 2 hour class provides individuals & families with the information and skills needed to be prepared for emergencies. Focusing on earthquakes, fires and floods this course helps people prepare for before, during & after the emergency.
The course covers the five key steps including:
1) how to survive in your home for 5 to 7 days
2) storing & maintaining your supplies
3) how & when to shut-off utilities
4) preparing & storing vital documents
5) family planning for evacuation, communication and more.
Instructors: Trained by the Southern Marin Fire Protection District (SMFD)

C.E.R.T., is a national Citizens Corp. volunteer program sponsored by FEMA. The training helps everyone to be better prepared to respond to and cope with disasters and emergencies at home, in your neighborhood, at work and throughout your community. After completing the course, C.E.R.T.s will be able to provide immediate assistance to handle small fires, turn off utilities, give first aid, perform light search & rescue, organize walk-up volunteers, and collect information which arriving professional first respondents need to prioritize & allocate resources.
