Camp Strawberry Overview

Camp Strawberry is a weekly variety day camp for ages 5-11 where kids can experience a wide array of activities engaging each child’s specific interests and creating some new ones along the way! We spend each week playing sports/games, doing arts & crafts, conducting science experiments, performing theater games, taking swim lessons, embarking on nature walks, competing in camper challenges, enjoying special guest performances, battling in water balloon fights, hunting for golden eggs, eating sweet treats and camp barbecues, and much MUCH more!

Activities are modified for all ages, experience, and comfortabilities and change week to week allowing for all campers – new or returning – to enjoy camp to the fullest.

Our campers are placed into groups at the beginning of each week based on their age. Group sizes range from about 14-20 kids with a maximum size of 24, and each group has 2-3 counselors with them throughout the week. Every group competes all week long to earn the most points with the winning group getting to pie their counselors in the face to end the week!

Ages: 5 – 11

Hours: (Mon. – Fri.) 9:00am – 4:00pm

A Day at Camp Strawberry

We have 5 activity types that take place every week at camp: Sports, Games, Art, Science, and Drama. All groups visit a counselor-led activity station of each type twice per week with more games of all kinds played throughout the week.

We also have bounce houses twice per week, swim lessons twice per week, a camp guest performer once per week, a sweet treat day, a cookout day, a camp dress up day based on the weekly theme, water games, whole-camp activities, camper and counselor challenges, talent shows, egg drop contests, group performances, camper choice time, and any other special events we can think of to add to the fun!

Aside from the scheduled activities, campers will get to hang out with their friends, eat lunch together, replay their favorite games, spin the Wonder Wheel, and of course hunt for the all-important golden eggs.

Camp Swim Lessons

Swim lessons at Camp Strawberry are designed to help your children become water safe and improve their swimming skills, but most importantly have fun!

Based on their swim level assessment form, your kids will be assigned to a group with similar skill levels, where they’ll practice water safety, swimming techniques, and enjoy fun games. For children at a lower swim level, hands-on assistance is provided. All of our instructors quickly evaluate each child’s abilities to create the best lesson plan and determine if each child is in the correct group level. If a child is more/less advanced, adjustments will be made.

A lifeguard and supervisor are on deck at all times during camp swim lessons to ensure the safety of all swimmers.

Counselors-In-Training (CITs)

The Camp Strawberry CIT program is a leadership development-based program for ages 12-14. CITs work directly with the counselors to help guide their groups and lead activities. The program provides training and real-life practice of leading others, taking on responsibility, being a role model, and gaining work experience.

The CITs have their own learning topic each week (ex. resume-building, interview practice, water safety, etc.) and have daily meetings in which they will debrief their performances, perform self-evaluations, and discuss various leadership styles in a camp environment while referencing that weekly learning topic. CITs leave the program with a stronger sense of leadership skills, life skills, and first-hand counselor training.
