Adult Private & Group Lessons

Adult private lessons are offered in sessions, typically scheduled on Friday afternoons. We do our best to provide these lessons year-round; however, availability depends on staffing and pool space.

Adult Private Lessons

  • 15 yrs and/or older
  • Designed for adults with minimal swimming background, but available to all level swimmers. These private lessons provide a supportive, personalized approach to learning how to swim or improving your skills. Whether you are learning later in life, working to overcome a fear of the water or looking to improve efficiency for lap swimming, instruction is tailored to help you feel comfortable and confident.
  • Participants will learn and practice water skills including floating on both the front and back, treading water, and becoming fully at ease in the pool. Stroke development focuses on efficient freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke, with individualized technique feedback to improve form and build confidence. Swimmers will also work on increasing endurance to successfully swim full laps.
  • In the forms, there is an area to list the skills you want to work on!
  • A pool membership is not required to sign up for swim lessons BUT, a pool membership is required to swim outside of designated swim lesson time.

Beginner Group Lessons

  • 15 yrs and/or older – 3 participants Max.
  • Designed for adults who are new to swimming or have minimal experience, these group lessons provide a supportive and structured environment to build confidence in the water. Whether you are learning later in life or working to overcome a fear of the water, instruction focuses on helping you feel comfortable at your own pace alongside others at a similar level.
  • Participants will focus on foundational water skills including breath control, holding their breath comfortably in the water, and practicing the transition between lifting the head to breathe and blowing bubbles underwater. Swimmers will learn front and back floating, gliding, and kicking on both the front and back, and tread water all while building overall comfort and control in the pool.
  • A pool membership is not required to sign up for swim lessons; however, a pool membership is required to swim outside of designated swim lesson time.

Intermediate Group Lessons

  • 15 yrs and/or older – 3 participants Max.
  • Designed for adults who can swim at least half a lap or one full lap independently, this class is ideal for those looking to confidently get across the pool using proper swim strokes. These group lessons focus on building technique, efficiency, and overall confidence in the water.
  • Participants will learn and practice side breathing in freestyle, along with refining stroke technique in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke.
  • Emphasis is placed on improving body position, coordination, and efficiency to help swimmers move through the water with greater ease.
  • Swimmers will also continue building endurance as they work toward swimming longer distances comfortably and confidently.
