Enrichment Classes Overview

We offer a variety of afterschool enrichment classes which cater to a broad range of ages and interests. SRD staff do not teach these classes, instead, SRD partners with independent contractors to come teach their classes at our facility. There are different types of classes every day of the week, with class subjects such as sports, theater, art, coding, foreign languages, cooking, tutoring, sewing, STEM, and more! Classes rotate in and out each session throughout the school year to provide opportunities for new experiences for the students and to align with the instructors’ schedules. For classes taking place right after school, SRD staff or the class instructor will pick up the students from school and walk them to their class at Strawberry Rec.

Enrichment Class Enrollment

All enrichment classes occur one day per week. You can learn which day of the week each class is on by filtering your search results by week day or by checking the schedule in the description of each class. Most classes on the same day take place at the same time, meaning your child can only attend one class per day with the exception being Wednesday where we have two different class time slots. We operate our afterschool programs in 8-10-week sessions. If you enroll in a class that takes place on Mondays, then your child will be signed up for that class for every Monday during the session. Enrollment for a session typically opens 2-3 weeks before the first day of the session. We will email everybody giving advanced notice of enrollment dates and times, as well as a schedule of all the upcoming enrichment classes.

Be mindful of each class’s grade level restriction listed in their descriptions. While some classes are open to all ages, many classes restrict their enrollment to certain age ranges. We try to have at least one class per day available to each grade level.

If your child is enrolled in an afterschool enrichment class and you need additional care after the class ends or before the class begins, you can enroll in Play Club at a discounted rate. Simply pick the day of Play Club you need and select the appropriate fee type associated with the enrichment class.
