Court Memberships

General Membership Rules

• Recreational Use Only: Memberships are for recreational tennis and pickleball play only. Lessons, clinics, leagues, and organized practices are not included.
• No Pets: Dogs or other pets are not permitted on courts or SRD property. Violations may result in loss of reservation time and/or pass revocation (no refunds).
• Instruction: All instruction (lessons, clinics, leagues, or organized practices) requires an SRD Rental Agreement, proof of insurance, and prior approval.
• Household Memberships: Passes cover immediate family members only, and to use the courts, all must be listed on the membership – limit of four.
• Outside Lessons Prohibited: Members and guests may not teach or receive lessons from non-family members. Immediate family members may only instruct other immediate family members listed on the membership.
• Prohibited Items: No food, alcohol, glass, or non-sports beverages. Only water and sports drinks in sealed containers are allowed.
• Access: One scan card is issued per membership (to the primary member). Cards may not be shared outside the household. Lost cards may be replaced for $35.
• Court Use: Pickleball is permitted on Tennis Court 1 and the Sport Court only.
• Attire: Proper attire is required — shirts, bottoms, and non-marking shoes.
• Etiquette: All players must follow USTA ‘Friend at Court’ etiquette guidelines:

Guest Policy

• Only immediate family members listed on the household membership may bring guests to the courts.
• Tennis: Up to 3 guests per membership.
• Pickleball/Basketball: Up to 2 guests per membership.
• Larger groups must be booked through the SRD Office. Rental rates and guest fees apply.

Court Reservations

Courts may be reserved online at https://strawberry.marin.org.
Reservations are strongly recommended and may be required at times.
The system is updated every Monday at approximately 10:00 AM for the following week.
Members with reservations have priority over walk-ons. If a court is unreserved, waiting members may begin play.

• Tennis Memberships: 7 reservations per week.
• Sport Court Memberships: 1 reservation per day.
• To cancel, call SRD (Mon–Fri, 9 AM–5 PM) at (415) 383-6494 or email admin@strawberryrec.org when the office is closed.
• Please cancel promptly if unable to attend, out of courtesy to others.

Scheduling Notes:
– During the school year, courts are reserved for youth programs weekdays, 3:45 – 6:15 PM.
– Classes and clinics are held mornings, afternoons, and evenings, which may limit availability. Please confirm before purchasing a membership.

Facility Use Rules

• Tennis Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
• Pickleball (Court 1): 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
• Sport Court (pickleball & basketball): 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Court Capacity: Maximum 4 players (tennis) or as designated for pickleball. Larger groups require GM approval.
• Guests must always be accompanied by a passholder.
• Prohibited on Courts: Strollers, animals, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller skates.
• Gates must be locked after entry and upon exit.
• Activities Allowed: Tennis, pickleball and basketball (sport court) only. No drawing, taping, or marking courts.
• Ball Machines: Require SRD approval. A mat or pad must be placed under the machine.
• Play Limits Without Reservation: Singles — 1 hour; Doubles — 1.5 hours; Backboard use — 1 hour if others are waiting.
• End of Play: Players must lock gates when leaving. Failure to secure gates may result in suspension.

Standards of Behavior

• Treat fellow members, staff, and facilities with respect.
• SRD may suspend or revoke memberships for violations.
• Lack of knowledge of rules does not excuse misuse.
• Court use is at members’ own risk.
• Courts are monitored by security cameras.

Court Rentals & Lessons

Only SRD-authorized instructors may teach on courts. Outside instructors are prohibited.

Pickleball & Basketball Rules

• Pickleball Courts C & D (Court 1): 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
• Sport Court: 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Each membership may host up to 2 guests; the passholder must be present.
• Doubles/Groups: At least 50% of players must be SRD passholders (e.g., 6 of 12 in a large group).
• Gates may not be propped open; groups must enter/exit together.
• Reservations: No consecutive or back-to-back reservations on Pickleball Courts C & D or Court 1.
• Court Allocation: Courts C & D are available until 10:45 AM; after that, pickleball may be reserved on Court 1.
• Equipment: Pickleball nets must be wheeled aside after use.
• Court Surface: No tape, chalk, or markings allowed.
• Enforcement: Violations may result in suspension or revocation of membership.
