2025 Tennis, Pickleball & Sport Court Rules

Court Information
Facilities
- 4 Tennis Courts (with lights; Court 1 allows pickleball)
- 1 Sport Court (pickleball & basketball, with lights)
Court Hours
- Tennis: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Pickleball: 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Tennis Court 1 & Sport Court)
- Sport Court (Pickleball & Basketball): 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Note: Courts are for SRD pass holders, their guests, program participants, and approved rentals/league play only.
Membership Information
- Pass Requirement: All players must have an annual SRD Tennis/Pickleball Pass. Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Household Use Only: Memberships cover immediate family members listed on the account.
- Resident/Non-Resident Rates: Proof of residency required for resident rate.
- Recreational Use Only: Organized practices, lessons, clinics, gatherings, parties, or league play require an SRD rental agreement and insurance.
- Lost Cards: Replacement fee is $35.
- Sharing Access: Keys, codes, or cards may not be shared outside the household.
- Pets: No dogs or pets allowed on courts or SRD property. Violation may result in immediate loss of court time and/or pass revocation without refund.
Guest Policy
- Tennis: Up to 3 guests per membership (max 4 people per court unless pre-approved by SRD GM).
- Pickleball: Up to 2 guests per membership. For doubles, at least 2 of 4 players must be SRD pass holders.
- Guests: Must always be accompanied by a pass holder, who is responsible for their conduct.
Reservations
- System: Online reservations available at strawberry.marin.org.
- Limits:
- Tennis: 4 reservations per week per membership (1 per day).
- Sport Court: 1 reservation per day.
- Pickleball (Courts C & D): 7 days/week, 7:00 AM – 1:15 PM. After 1:15 PM, pickleball moves to Court 1.
- Cancellations:
- Cancel through the SRD office (415-383-6494) during business hours or email gm@strawberryrec.org when closed.
- Priority: Pass holders with reservations take priority over walk-ons.
- Duration Without Reservation: 1.5 hours for doubles, 1 hour for singles if others are waiting.
- Prohibited: Consecutive or concurrent reservations on Pickleball Courts C & D or Court 1.
Facility Use Rules
- Proper attire required: shirt, bottoms, and non-marking tennis shoes.
- No food, alcohol, glass, or non-sports drinks. Only water or sports drinks in sealed containers are allowed.
- No strollers, bikes, skates, scooters, skateboards, or animals.
- Gates must be closed and locked after entry and upon leaving.
- No drawing lines, taping, or altering the court surface.
- Ball machines require SRD approval.
- Tennis play has priority over backboard use when others are waiting.
- Courts may close for SRD programs or maintenance; check postings/website for updates.
Standards of Behavior
- Follow USTA “Friend at Court” etiquette.
- Treat all participants, staff, and facilities with respect.
- Failure to follow rules may result in suspension or revocation of membership.
- Courts are used at members’ own risk and are monitored by security cameras.
- Failure to know the rules is not an excuse for misuse.
Court Rentals & Instruction
- All rentals must be arranged through the SRD office (gm@strawberryrec.org | 415-383-6494).
- Only SRD-authorized instructors may teach lessons on SRD courts. Outside instruction is prohibited and may result in suspension or pass loss.
- Instruction is limited to immediate family members listed on the membership. Guests, friends, or extended relatives may not provide lessons or coaching to members on SRD courts.
Pickleball & Basketball Rules
- Pickleball Court C & D (Tennis Court 1): 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM.
- Sport Court Pickleball/Basketball (Courts A & B): 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM.
- Capacity:
- Pickleball: Max 4 players per court
- Basketball: 2 guests per membership, more than 5 on 5 playing not recommended
- Sport Court – Mixed Use: When pickleball and basketball are played at the same time, players should use common courtesy and safety to ensure balls and players remain on respective sides of the court.
- Nets: Move nets to the side of the court after play.
- Gates: May not be propped open; all group members must enter/exit together.
- Conduct: Pass holders are responsible for guest behavior and adherence to all SRD rules.
- Prohibited: Drawing lines, taping, or placing objects on courts.
