SRD Playground & Soccer Field – Coming Summer 2027

Overview

SRD is proudly community-supported, with approximately 85% of its operations funded through memberships and program fees and only 15% supported by public tax-based funding. That strong tradition of community participation makes exceptional facilities and programs possible while minimizing reliance on incremental taxpayer allocations.

The new playground and park improvements are currently estimated to cost approximately $2.5 million. We are asking the community to continue that tradition by helping fund approximately 50% of the total project cost. Community contributions will help deliver amazing play equipment for children of all ages and abilities, a year-round turf field, essential ADA improvements, and a lasting recreational asset for Strawberry.

Leave Your Legacy: Fundraising for the Future

We invite individuals and partners to be a permanent part of Strawberry Rec’s history. Donors at all levels will receive recognition, commensurate with the level of contribution.

Community-Driven Design

At SRD we believe the best community spaces are built together. We want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who participated in our design feedback meetings, completed our community survey, and joined us at Community Night to share their thoughts. Your feedback directly shaped the updated designs for the Strawberry Community Park Playground and Sports Field project.

To ensure this project reflects the unique personality and values of our neighborhood, our team carefully reviewed and synthesized individual comments and survey responses. By listening to your priorities, we have transitioned from an initial concept to a refined, community-focused design that balances engaging play value with the natural beauty of Marin County.

Take the survey and let us know what you think of the new design.
